Azerbaijan, located in Southwestern Asia, is officially known as the Republic of Azerbaijan. It stands as the largest and most populous nation in the South Caucasus. About two-thirds of Azerbaijan has rich deposits of oil and natural gas. Oil plays the most significant role in Azerbaijan's economy along with cotton natural gas, cotton and agricultural products contributing towards the economic growth of the country. Azerbaijan is rich in natural resources, like iron, lead, copper minerals and construction materials such as marble and limestone. Other mineral resources are iron ore, zinc, limestone, pyrites, cobalt and alumina.
